How to style it?
It's always difficult to decide how to style your outfit. Often you have a garment, a pair of shoes or a bag that you would like to use and then you try to put together an outfit based on that. Here I want to share some tips and tricks that I often use when putting together my outfits with pieces from Barby Gray:
Ascot waistcoat
Waistcoats are very popular now. But how do you style them? How you style it depends on the occasion. If you're going to put together an outfit for work, I like to wear a shirt underneath or a jacket over it. As both the Ascot waistcoat and the Mayfair jacket are slim fit, I prefer to choose one of the pieces as shirt, waistcoat and jacket on top of each other can be tight. If you only wear the waistcoat under the jacket, it is very nice to style it with a matching silk scarf or a pearl necklace that matches the buttons on the waistcoat. It is also nice with a simple cardigan over the Ascot waistcoat. If you want to style the waistcoat for a party outfit, it is easy to combine it with the Ascot skirt, which is produced in the same fabric as the waistcoat so that they fit perfectly together. The vest is also very cool with jeans or wide suit trousers, dress the outfit up with high heels and jewellery.

No time to style the outfit?
Then the Richmond pearl top is perfect. You don't need jewellery as the top already has pearls along the collar. I love to style this top with wide jeans, suit pants, or a long skirt. Over the top, I like to wear an open jacket so that you can see the pearls. With the short sleeves on this top, it's very cool with long gloves that go over the elbow, for a slightly different look. This top is suitable for most occasions as it is pretty but still doesn't look too dressy. With its unique design, you are guaranteed to stand out in a positive way.

How to style the blazer jacket?
I love to style the Mayfair jacket with a white shirt, a thin turtleneck sweater or the Ascot waistcoat. The jacket is slim fit, so it is important that the sweater worn underneath is not too thick or wide under the arms. If it's cold, I put a shawl or scarf over the shoulders and tie in the front, or a large knitted sweater over the shoulders. The Mayfair jacket fits perfectly over dresses as it is slim and not too long.
Suit pants
City suit trousers with a straight cut are comfortable trousers that suit both work and leisure. Since they are wide, I prefer to style them with tops that can be tucked into the trousers so that the waist is highlighted. A favorite outfit with these trousers is to wear a large shirt under the trousers and a wide belt at the waist to mark the transition. With loafers and a knitted jumper over your shoulders, you have a perfect outfit for most occasions.
Long skirts
How to style long skirts?
Long skirts are back in fashion and the big question is, of course, how to style them. When I put together outfits with long skirts, I think it's important to highlight the waist. I do that by either choosing a top that is a little short, but still goes below the start of the skirt, or by choosing a top that you can tuck into the skirt. If you have a top that goes under the skirt, it is important that it is thin, so that it does not become bulky under the skirt. It is super nice to put a wide belt over the transition between top and skirt. If you also have shoes or a bag that match the belt, you have a very nicely put together outfit that looks planned. Both the Ascot waistcoat and the Richmond pearl top go perfectly with the Ascot skirt.
